much easier than rented turning tools

so i got this because i have arthritis and needed to do all the brake work. My only issue with this is that it can be a little tricky to undo when you fully compress it because you have to hold it down at the same time, but I find it easier than the tool you get in the autozone that You must turn over and over again. it was pretty nice

Pros
  • tools and equipment
Cons
  • exchange availability

Great tool! Best in Brake Tools

Bought to make brakes on multi-piston calipers, works like a charm. The tool is fairly self-explanatory, so very little instruction is required. That's good because there were quite a few instructions. The tool came with a spring about 2 inches long, which is not mentioned in the instructions. I'll be damned if I can figure out what the spring is for or how it interacts with the tool, the tool works fine without it.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Damaged

Let's consider another alternative.

The tool is convenient, I give it to him, but it is painful to use. The ratchet itself requires pressure to work and when you try to squeeze the plunger you need to hold onto the body of the ratchet pin to allow it to rotate back and forth. Also, nowhere was it mentioned that you would need to use 1 pad for the device to work. Why? Because the auger on the plate is too short, otherwise the plunger will be pushed out completely before it falls out of the device itself. So does it work? Yes, can…

Pros
  • Brake tool
Cons
  • I have no major complaints about it, everything is fine
