This is how it works. but the fan does not blow air! And it's the other way around, what little you feel is on the side of the wires.

Bought for my wife for work in her office. She says it's AWESOME as it runs on DC and battery. i.e. Have a few extras ready. She would recommend this fan to anyone.

The fan is a bit smaller than I thought. I might buy a second one for the other end of my little greenhouse. But it keeps airflow good and was delivered to me fairly quickly so I can't complain.

Can be placed anywhere. I used zip ties and placed it on one side of my large tomato garden. The fan is small, it is difficult to put it in the sun because it will sting your fingers. This will help keep the air moving near the garden soil. I will buy more to put in my greenhouse. Great for the price and the solar option! I've burned out too many motors on conventional fans to count!
