Great tool but the size of the hole didn't match

Everyone uses these thick pencils in carpentry. The hole size on this thing calls for a mechanical pencil. The biggest problem is that the lines break fairly easily when trying to mark the wood. I pushed the pencil in as thinly as I could, but it still didn't fit through the holes. You must use a mechanical pencil. Pros: Light weight and fairly accurate. The main reason I bought it is to lay long 2x4x8 lines and when I use a mechanical pencil it usually breaks 2 or 3 times laying the line. I…

Quality construction but the measurement scale is weird as hell to say the least

Open the package and you'll get a quality product. After that, the TS-8 I received shows a critical error. Scale comparison with (all of the following are the same size over 12 inches): STAEDTLER-MARS scale made in Germany, STAEDTLER scale made in Brazil, ALVIN scale. Made in USA 25' CRAFTSMAN Made in USA The TS-8 scale is relatively inaccurate and will vary throughout the 8 inch scale. It is 5/64 shorter than the previous one by 8 inches. It looks like they tried to fix the scale in his design

Almost correct in the lines

Good. it is straight in relation to the reference edges, nice and light, good color contrast of the measuring edges with dashes/numbers on a matte blue background, all edges are smoothed out well - no sharp cutting burrs anywhere, the matte finish makes it easy to grip/hold but fairly smooth to slide over the workpiece to mark lines.
