Review on Precision Woodworking Measuring Test with Aluminum Positioning - Measure & Inspect by Daniel Morris

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost correct in the lines

Good. it is straight in relation to the reference edges, nice and light, good color contrast of the measuring edges with dashes/numbers on a matte blue background, all edges are smoothed out well - no sharp cutting burrs anywhere, the matte finish makes it easy to grip/hold but fairly smooth to slide over the workpiece to mark lines. Poorly. The marked measurement lines are not straight at all, the measurement lines are only accurate to within 6 inches at the withers - from 6 to 8 inches the distance between the marks increases - from 6 to 7 inches it is actually about 1-3/32 inches, but from 6 to 8 inches are approximately 2-9/32", 1/32" indexed marker holes only fit 0.5mm thick pencils or less, indexed holes for 1/32". The markers are from the rectangular datum edge wrong - the very first hole is less than 1/32" from the rectangular datum edge, which also means the measurement lines and numbered holes are NOT aligned - they are close but not embedded. In general. I will continue to use this tool for use workshop work it will come in handy for many tasks love how easy the square is this is a real square so for quick lines between items it's easier to use than some of the a other small squares in my shop. If I had to use this tool for a project with tight tolerances and consistent measurements, I would have to use this tool exclusively for all measurements for the entire project. Don't use a regular tape measure or any other square measuring tool that gets mixed up along the way. The pieces and cuts don't match.
