This is the answer to my problems with ice machine repair and the costly replacement of the ice machine water filter. My mechanic suggested bypassing the water filter that I had to constantly change in my ice maker and instead using the filter on the outside of the machine. This braided connector post installed the new water filter with no problem and now I can replace it myself and hopefully save on repair costs.
