not worth the price. Stay away Poor quality

I have encountered some problems, the 9 volt clamp is too short. it is slightly longer to fit the fingers. While it can't get loud, I found that I had to replace resistor 1 with 2kΞ© or 2.2kΞ©, but I found that one small issue is the electronics in the microphone and needs to be checked. I have better parts so I will replace it when it stops working. plenty of room to mount my own amp if that fails. Just stay away from it, it's not even worth the price I had to pay to have it delivered to nz

Works as advertised!

Cobra HG M75 works well but lacks tonal range. I am using it with a recently refurbished Realistic TRC-465 AM/SSB CB radio - this radio does not have built in mic gain and needs a way to boost the sound from the mic to achieve 100% modulation...the M75 does it it I like the recessed mic gain control on the back, unlike my RF Limited CR577 with its angle controls, the M75's gain control positions stay in place when using the mic. My only complaint is the narrowness of the 4-pin mic jack - the…

Excellent modified microphone

I have two Cobra M73 handheld microphones. These are great mics if you "mod" them. I use one on my Drake TR-7 transceiver on the ham radio bands. I get excellent audio reports, better than my D104 or Plus 3B desktop mics. A different microphone is used on my Cobra 135 CB. It provides 100% modulation on AM and increases SSB talk performance. A 'mod' that increases gain and smooths audio response is available online. My radio experience has been with a top class amateur radio license since 1981…

Mechanical: Accessory

The microphone gain control makes a scratchy sound when moved when the microphone is in transmit mode, indicating the potentiometer contacts are bad or dirty. Also compared to the Cobra CA-73 OEM microphone, this one has a deeper tone, but it also sounds a bit dull. Doesn't sound that realistic. As an aside - and this applies to Revain - I originally included this description of a mechanical defect on my return form, but I had to revoke my original return authorization for this item while it…

Amazing with a few simple modifications.

Removed a bullet due to a required change. My 1978 Cobra 148 GTL radio from Taiwan (year one) has already been rebuilt for a 4 pin mic input from the original 5 pin mic design and my custom dynamic moving coil mic sounds great with my radio so I've never experimented with one like that powerful condenser microphone before. Firstly, "Cobra HG M75 High Power Microphone Fix/Upgrade" is required to increase the power output and improve the audio tone, but removing the R6 resistor, which powers the…
