Very difficult if not impossible to fill from a tap. There was also a very cute little funnel that didn't help at all. My husband pondered the issue and there were fancy cocktail syrups in the liquor department. Went like clockwork. One of those squeezed picnic ketchup/mustard bottles will probably do the trick, but it's nice to see how much water you have left.

It's good to learn to funnel water into small holes. It's like being at a carnival and playing one of those impossible games. Pour water into the holes without filling the top, pour a little but then you'll lose all your hard work to get water into the holes! The ice cubes developed a weird gummy aftertaste after a few uses.

I found the internal knobs to keep the water in the spherical chambers better than the version without the internal knobs. Black is a really bad choice as you can't see the water level. I have the 6 ball version which holds the water in place much better than this one. And this one is transparent so you can see when the water is almost full.

The product came in a box with instructions and worked well but for $25.00 I couldn't stand the taste of silicone and washed it thoroughly beforehand. The products left such an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. I think if you drink it with alcohol it will mask the taste. Again, this was a waste of my money just because of the horrible silicone taste it leaves on the dice.

This is great. I used to buy small silicone ice cube molds with 4 cubes and I really liked them. This is a model that makes 9 cubes and even better. Easy to use. Simply fill in water and wait a few hours until funny round cubes or ice balls are formed. Other trays picked up the freeze smell after a while and this one I've had for 6 months has no smell. The best part is when you're making cocktails for your friends and they're like, look at those ice cubes, how did you do that! Really funny.

Having nice round ice balls in barrels for strong drinks is very nice. The fact that you have a nice single ball of ice vs. one or more cubes provides maximum surface area and a new look for your shot of everything. I pour filtered water into the top holes using a kettle, then put it in the freezer overnight.
