Clips ideal for mounting recessed lights

My original lights didn't have clips and I figured the only way to fit new LEDs would be to replace each of the canisters at great expense. Then I found these clips. These clips were the perfect solution to keep my headlights from falling out of the canister.

Pros
  • Some competitors
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Worked well for retrofitting can lanterns

They worked quite well. I feel they were a bit pricey but worth the cost due to the DIY savings. The screws provided were quite small and difficult to countersink, so I used my own hex sockets. You have to be careful when installing the screw, because the tension wire clamps are somewhat sharp-edged and could injure you if you slip off!

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

The quality of the material has deteriorated and is still recommended.

These are for reworking old recessed lightboxes to accept the clip style built into LED lights. I bought a couple a few years ago and they have worked great. However, my last purchase was not so successful. The quality of the material has gone down, the metal hasn't gotten that hard anymore so they loosen up and have to be fixed with the screws provided. In the past, no screws were required.

Pros
  • Handsome
Cons
  • Upgrades

It worked well. but the price is too high and the screws could be better

One of them. I can do something myself. But is it worth it? It's too expensive compared to the cost of production, but it was worth it because I didn't have time to make my own back then. Only 4 stars because of the price. But this is a five star product. The screws were small and of poor quality. I just resorted to self-tapping screws I had in my screw collection!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Use screws! Best in Finishing

I have used similar ones in the past with ease. Screws are not required. They come with screws and you really have to use them. However, you will need a right-angle drill bit. The much higher cost of those that slide open versus those that don't becomes difficult to justify when you also have to use screws. However, you solve the problem if you have banks that need them. Now there are built-in LED mods that offer both mounting systems, so I'll be buying those in the future.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No Insurance

Great product does the job

These are well made clips. They do a great job of keeping my aftermarket built in lights in place. I installed them without the supplied self-tapping screws (a nice touch is that I have self-tapping screws) and I think everything will stay in place with just rubbing. I had to bend mine and crimp them tight after installation because my jars were thicker than the bend of the clamps. It took a bit of work, but once I realized the truck was installing a lot of it, it didn't last long. Definitely…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

They worked... - Recessed lights

I bought 3 x 10 a year to install new LED recessed lights to replace old ones. Our cans didn't have the mount we needed so we bought them instead of replacing all the cans. Two packages matched the description. A pack of 10 was short, so you had to guess the placement. It didn't attach to the bottom of the can, it just had a screw. We used them for easier access to light sources as some of them would be very difficult with our vaulted ceilings. For me it's already quite expensive for what they…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Did the best job in recessed lights

I've used them in 10 recessed lights (installed with the house in 2003) that didn't have clips. I installed LED retrofit lighting. Installing the clips was relatively easy. I had to open them up a bit to fit the outside of the jar. Pry too hard and they won't be left without screws. Basically, I opened up the closed end of the clamp by inserting and twisting a flat head screwdriver. I tried not to touch the open end of the clamp so it would still hold the glass. I didn't use the screws that…

Just buy these - Electric

I was in the process of replacing my current recessed lights with LED's but my cans didn't have the torsion spring mounts. I tried installing the headlights anyway, but they kept sagging. I've tried the following: Bending the torsion springs Rubber bands for headlight suction Rubber bands for headlight suction Double-sided tape Mounting putty Velcro mounting tape Masking tape Top mass Put an irrigation tube on the end of the torsion springs to increase the coefficient of friction and it all…
