.but unfortunately they didn't design this cart with a top that can be securely fastened with some sort of clips or latches. In other words, the lid just sits UP with no reliable way of creating a reliable airtight seal. This is an even bigger problem when you have a lot of stuff inside that just won't let the top hold on. Not a very good idea in my opinion.

Bought a 5.7L storage jar to make a salad for a week so everything stays crisp for a long time. The first batch worked great, both the salad and the other ingredients were still crispy when the container was emptied. I can't get enough of this vegetable holder. I've been using it for a few months now. Salads stay crisp for 7 days. Couldn't be happier!

I lost my Tupperware salad container so I found this version and snapped a photo. I am impressed. I bought a head of lettuce and wanted to see how it would hold up. I put a tablespoon of water in the bottom tank and it's been eight days (so far) with no sign of rot. I also share this with celery sticks. No problem. UPDATE: After THREE weeks, I saw a slight browning of the lettuce and celery. Terrific!

I doubt it would work as strawberries only last 2 days before they start to spoil. The berries I put in this container (unwashed so as not to add any additives) were still fresh after 5 days with no signs of aging. The only reason I deducted 1 star was because it wouldn't fit a full pint of strawberries, I had to deduct a few. I think it all depends on the size of the berries, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't all fit.

I never write product reviews but this product works so well I feel compelled to let you know how great it was! The product is really well made and there are good instructions on the lid as to whether something needs to be vented, watered or whatever. I have to say that I washed these berries in a vinegar and water mixture first to prolong their life, but they never would have stayed as fresh if I used regular Tupperware! I was expecting the freshness of "greens" to be extended by 2-3 days compared to the shelf life of containers at the grocery store. When the vents at both ends of this Produce ProKeeper are open, the commonly observed wetness of vegetables in the store is greatly reduced. This prevented our greens from spoiling prematurely.
