Flawless, affordable dynamic mic that delivers the sound you want

This is a great mic that pairs well with the PreSonus AudioBox 96. It delivers the perfect rich podcaster sound right out of the box with no post-processing. (EDIT) it worked until the AudioBox 96 started humming and was accompanied by a constant clicking every 5 minutes even when swapping.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Not the best

Incredible dynamic microphone

After much research I settled on the PD70 and I really like it. I've always liked the look of the SM7B, but $400 is a lot of money for a mic. While this mic doesn't have the distinctive warm sound that Shure offers, I think it suits my voice better. It's very clean and doesn't sound muddy like the SM7B sometimes sounds. The build quality is also amazing and feels really solid.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Amazing quality and sound!

I used this mic with a Behringer UM2 audio interface. I've already had tons of comments from friends telling me how good my mic sounds! The packaging is very basic - only the microphone itself is included, so you'll need an XLR cable and an audio interface to pair it up. For the price it's just amazing. I was originally going to buy the Shure SM7B but it gives almost the same results for half the price.

I'm a little concerned.

I opened the Amazon box and found a box of PreSonus Mic inside. The PreSonus box was badly cracked, not sealed in any way, and had pebbles rolling around with the mic. I want to think the mic is ok but can't help but feel like it has been used and returned. I also bought a Focusrite Scarlett to use and am having some trouble capturing sound without cranking it all up. but I don't know if it's Focusrite or PerSonus. If it had been well packaged it wouldn't even have crossed my mind that it could

Excellent dynamic microphone for broadcasting

I took a risk because I was looking for a high-quality, but cheap dynamic microphone for broadcasting for a long time. "Go to the King" Shure SM7B, of course, but I didn't want to spend that much and instead opted for the PD-70. This is a brilliant sounding mic on par with broadcast mics that cost a lot more. It's also a solid build, heavy and feels like it could take a lot of damage. You definitely don't want to drop this thing on your foot! My only gripe is that it's a bit bright at low…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some little things

Summary: The bottom of my copy of this mic was peeling off! And it was a mic that I just took brand new out of the box. I didn't sweat much as I just used a black Sharpie marker to even out the smudges. Then I noticed something really obvious. There is a PreSonus sticker on the underside of the microphone, covering the area around the XLR connector. Bumps protruded through the sticker. My curiosity made me peel off the sticker and I was shocked. The bottom is plastic and the screws are crooked!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
