I used this powder over black gel polish and gel top. Although the color is still very nice, it is not the color shown in the picture. It doesn't have a strong gradient between green and purple. Basically it is light green. It's a duochrome, but very thin. My nails also don't have a "chrome" or mirror effect and I followed the instructions exactly. I am a professional nail designer. Damn cool! I had to practice with him. First I started with a cute unicorn then I got this one and it works much better. It's darker than I was hoping for and I'll see if they have a similar but lighter one. I used a clear base coat from Walmart and then applied a gorgeous Diva UV Gel No Wipe Top Coat. Anyone who says it doesn't work is either using the wrong products or applying them incorrectly. It's phenomenal! The photos shown were taken with the tacky base coat only. I used the Beetles Foundation that came with my kit here at Revain. Apply and cure under LED light for 60 seconds. DO NOT wash the sticky layer. I really liked this chrome powder. It looks so brilliant and I love how it changes color depending on the lighting. It only looks amazing if you use the no wash gelcoat that the beautiful diva used. I used a regular top coat and it didn't look shiny it just looked like a green glitter polish it just looked bad so please use a gel top coat if you want a chrome effect. Excellent product! Full disclosure, I use it for resin art not nails so I don't know how easy it is to use for nail art. For resin work it was great! You get what you pay for when it comes to color changing powders. I've bought several and this is by far the best quality, but it's a bit more expensive. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. The lid for the small pot it's in doesn't unscrew easily and gets stuck. But the pigment itself is fire! I will definitely order more flowers.
