Priority 12 Volt Automatic Battery Protector Review

Worked for a few months and then started giving me problems. There would be an accidental short circuit while I was driving, causing the car to shake.

What I don't like is that I bought a new battery and this priority started and didn't work. It completely drained my battery after 3 weeks of inactivity. I strongly recommend not using this product, very disappointed. I am hoping for a full refund or some form of store credit.

Excellent in theory. Doesn't work in reality. Once your voltage drops to a certain level it will cut off 12V. Only to turn it back on when power is being used (headlights or brake lights). Well, if I ever had a short circuit, which essentially drains power, wouldn't the short circuit turn it back on? Obviously like that. Worked for about a week (although I'm just guessing it took that long to run out of battery).

Installation took longer than expected. Choosing the location for placing the device is not easy. Finding a place to mount the holster and how to mount it required disassembly of the surrounding body parts. All crimp connections should be checked. The ground wire connector has come loose from the wire. After the unit was installed I ran an installation verification test and the unit cut out at 11.75 volts. This is my second priority start that I bought. My 2015 work truck battery is dead at the end when I get back from vacation. So I bought one of these. My parents' 2017 plow regularly idles and the battery dies, so I put one on their truck. Since then, my work truck has never let me down and I no longer change the battery every 18 months. I hope my parents love theirs as much as I love mine! Follow the instructions and it's easy to install. The hardest part is finding a good place to install it.
