I'm satisfied, the product is exactly as described.

Initially used in conjunction with PRO-JECT Pre Box S2 digital. Until I thought of turning off the Mixer Type, I thought that the device was not working, although I turned it on in conjunction with its native DAC. For me, the main qualities of this streamer are the convenience of the remote interface (if you close your eyes to the lack of scrolling of long names), sound quality and compatibility with ROON. It should also be noted that I was looking for a quality external streamer to feed the…

Pros
  • - manufacturing quality, - small dimensions, - work with various high-resolution file formats, - the possibility of remote use and configuration, - the library sees the . cue markup, - the ability to work with ROON
Cons
  • - not friendly with Synology media server, - gets pretty hot - no scrolling of long file names, - when connected, it does not find network drives on its own, which have to be connected manually, - periodically freezes or reboots for no apparent reason, - to play files in DSD format (in Direct mode), you need to turn off Mixer Type (which is not obvious), - lack of support from the manufacturer, which is especially important in the conditions of dampness of the installed software (repair and sellers do not care about the software), - the library does not see covers embedded in TAG, - very poor documentation, which lacks a description of the available settings - for some unknown reason, it does not understand all . cue files (the reason has not yet been established, I did not find a visible difference in . cue files)

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

Only positive impressions. Its pros: Ease of setup and use. Do you want to control from your phone, do you want to connect HDMI to the TV, to the USB port - media keyboard and let's go . With its cons: Doesn't connect with Deezer. And maybe a little more annoying blue diodes. His brother, Prebox, has a white display.

Ultra Low Cost, Roon Problems

Let me start by saying that a perfectly adequate Roon endpoint can be purchased for $40 (Google Chromecast Audio, buy it while it lasts). You can also combine the Stream Box Ultra S2 feature with a very cheap RPi. Issues I'm having: 1) Identifies my DAC (SU-8) but reports Roon incorrectly 2) No setup instructions, see Roon support page before tearing your hair out 3) Performance over WiFi up to Google Chromecast in 40 Dollar equivalent (96kHz PCM Audio) 4) NO phone support from Pro-ject or its…

  • Listen to your favorite radio shows, access news and discover new channels from around the world.
Cons
  • little things

Connected, followed all the instructions for configuring WiFi, specified the name of the object, initialization went well. Enter the WiFi name and password. I took it, said everything is fine, I open the browser, go! Browser opened, streamer management page not found. Entered exactly the right website, received a completely different website. abominable. Avoid saving yourself the frustration.

Pros
  • By implementing shoutcast, Pro-Ject also gives you the possibility to listen to different internet radio stations.
Cons
  • There are defects

Connected, followed all instructions to set up Wi-Fi, gave it a name for the object, initialization was fine. Enter the WiFi name and password. I took it, said everything is fine, I open the browser, go! Browser opened, streamer management page not found. Entered exactly the right website, received a completely different website. abominable. Avoid saving yourself the frustration.

Extremely low price, Roon outputs

Great addition to my HiFi gear

I am using a Stream Box connected via an Audioquest Carbon USB cable to a Topping D90 DAC connected to an IOTAVX-SA3 Integrated Amplifier and am getting great results . I don't use the expensive Roon software, PC connection or DLNA connection. The included OEM version of the Volumio software works great for me with my Android phone or iPad. My sources are Tidal (the standard version), a wide range of web radio stations and my music library which is on a 1GB portable hard drive plugged directly…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

I bought a streamer to replace my laptop as a source. A TIDAL interface capable of carrying MQA signals was required. Sonically, it was a definite improvement over the laptop. More supple, completely tireless and open. Once set up, it was easy to control from my iPhone. But at first I wasn't impressed with the TIDAL interface. It couldn't handle any of my large playlists and could be slow or just plain uncooperative at times. But the sound was so much better than my laptop that I just figured…
