I ordered two of these salad bowls for a summer picnic. In general I was satisfied with them. Outer acrylic bowl/lid/serving is thick, transparent and beautiful. But the stainless steel inner shell is very thin and not like the pictures. I'm surprised that mfr describes it as 18/8 stainless steel because it definitely looks like 18/0 or at most 18/5. I was expecting it to be heavier and shinier than the stainless steel bowls you can buy but it isn't. I feel like it cheapens the look of the…

Good product. Could be even better with adjustment

I used it for the first time yesterday at a picnic next door. My area is in Florida. So I really wanted my banana pudding to stay cold and safe to eat. I didn't like that you couldn't attach a travel lid, so I taped Press n Seal to the stainless steel bowl and just wrapped the lid separately. I have to say that at the end of the picnic I was very surprised when there was still ice cream in the bowl! When I get home I usually just throw away what's left of the picnic. Not this time. Pretty good. with reservations

We have been looking for an item like this for a long time to cool the fruit salad that we serve for breakfast. It cools pretty well and pleases the local health department. Simply add some more ice to the bowl and set the stainless steel bowl on top, sticking out about half an inch over the rim. Over time, it settles on ice. If you put in the "ideal" amount of ice to start with, it will likely melt too low to be useful. We use a stainless steel ladle/spoon, not the plastic that comes with it…
