Very easy to replace an old gooseneck stem to take advantage of modern stems and customize your bike. Pretty easy and we'll finish for what it is. For the price, why cheap?

25.4mm is the right option to convert an old mountain bike stem 1" to a modern one to convert 1 1 8-inch stems. I need to make some adjustments to the spacers to get the stem height I want.

Works as you hope. In my case I increased the inner diameter of the 1+1/8" spring to 1+1/8" (so I could use a 1+1/8" unthreaded rod around this spring). In the past I have I've also used a 1" to 1+1/8" unthreaded spring and again this really opens up your stock options.

Shows 22.2mm stamping on the end of the stem wedge which is a 7/8" stem for vintage road bikes. The actual part shipped is 25.4mm or 1 inch. . Do not buy this part as the part diameter is wrong on the picture. Bought twice and both times got a 25.4mm piece that didn't fit my old road bike fork. Waste of time, should have contacted LBS. LBS would properly get a few bucks more and save me the hassle of sending parts back only to get the wrong parts again.

I bought the wrong size. This bottom diameter is 25.4 mm. I was very confused by this size. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't get to use it; I ordered the Origin 8 for a few bucks more and it's lighter and way better (and prettier). The difference in weight may be due to the size. This profile design (PD) is made in China while Origin 8 is made in Taiwan. The underside of the PD has a smooth finish, unlike the Ori8 and my old Nitto Technomic which had strips cut out.
