Proform 69501 Aluminum Differential Stabilizer Review

I give 3 stars for the thickness of the case. Looks good BUT the paint peels off very easily. so soft but I can almost break it with my fingernail. don't try to figure out how to fix it.

I bought this for my Explorer and I think they listened to other consumer complaints because I haven't had any paint or bolt problems and it worked well and it was better than trying to fill my rear differential without a drain or filler plug to fill. . I hope this holds up over time and will be updated as needed.

I bought this because I liked black over raw aluminum. The paint is very soft. Before applying the sealant I cleaned the mating surface with a rag and brake cleaner and just rubbed the paint off. I sprayed the whole thing with brake cleaner to keep it looking neat. Now I have a bare aluminum differential cover. Although it works fine.

I was skeptical about buying this product because of all the bad reviews about paint chipping when tightening screws. Well, I think they solved that problem by now fitting the washers with mounting screws that are rubberized on one side. I was still concerned about the paint chipping, so I sprayed some silicone on the rubber washers to make sure they went on smoothly. No chipped paint. The product looks good, feels good and works well.

This diff cap was a good upgrade to the original cap as it allows for easy diff draining and refilling. The color is solid, the mounting screws are the right length, and I haven't encountered any of the issues reported in old reviews from yesterday. Installation is easy if you are used to turning keys. It will be necessary to lower the passenger side panhard bar to make room for a painless direct mount. The case looks great and does what it's supposed to. I would buy the Perfect Launch…

The product looks good and seems reliable. However, the adhesive surface was very grainy. Like Nestle Crunchish! And it had about three fairly deep pits. The scarred areas are difficult to see because the surface is painted black. Also, the quick assembly instructions make no mention of load pin washers or how to install them.
