Amazing fan, the best of ceiling fans

Very nice and quiet - remote control/installation is a bit tricky - yes the internals of the remote are in the top compartment. You have to twist it and insert it into the slot :-) exactly as instructed in the instructions, but you can skip this part. It's nice and well weighted - quiet and doesn't move!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Legacy model

Failed/Bad Directions

The directions are terrible from the start. I installed a lot of regular sized fans so it didn't really matter. I couldn't get the remote to work with the fan. The fan is back. Think about it. if it worked. and then after 6 months either the remote or the transmitter stopped working, there is no other way to turn this fan on, so I had a $300 fan and couldn't get it to work.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Also, most modern ceiling fans have a lighting kit that uses chandelier bulbs that don't produce enough light. Progress Lighting with four tulip bulbs provides plenty of light and is dimmable. Progress Lighting is…

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers

  • Poorly thought out
