I bought this to tie up wire harnesses on an airplane so zip ties are a must. This tool worked well initially, but after about 50 bindings the notched pawl that presses on the end to allow the tool to tighten the binding began to slip. I have cleaned the teeth to make sure there is no plastic debris on them but they are still slipping. When I manually push the dog, the tool works fine, so the spring doesn't seem strong enough. I have used my boss' Panduit version almost every day for years. It is necessary. But when I went shopping, oops! This tool costs less than 1/4 the price and works the same way. I used it for the first time last night and it worked flawlessly on about two dozen ties. I can only hope it lasts. If you're a pro and use ties every day or don't even think about spending $300 on a hand tool, don't even think about buying Panduit. But if the price puts you off, give it a try.
