In theory this is a good set that can help you find the right thimble, but it's pretty obvious that only a fully closed thimble is useful. The more open ones are usually useless because they are not adjustable and very poorly made. For the price, this borders on cheating and I guarantee you will feel stupid buying it. Just learn how to make your own leather thimble, it will be way better than all the others I promise you.

Very nice thimble set. I have somewhat thin fingers and the size selection suits me perfectly. There are two sizes of open thimbles so I can use them on different fingers depending on what I'm doing. 50/50 ok. 2 open-ended thimbles are a great idea, but they're particularly poor quality. The metal at the open end where the finger enters is slightly curved, which I could handle if it weren't sharp, but the edge isn't polished for simplicity.
