🚗 Enhance Gear Shifting Performance with Prothane 16-1603 Shifter Bushing Kit Review

Fits perfectly in my 2016 STI. Significantly improves shift feel, it's noticeably sharper. Installation was simultaneous with the Group N mounting kit and forced displacement, which made access to the bushings easier.

If you have a 2005 Impreza WRX this will not work. The front hub halves are sloppy (too small, at least an eighth of an inch), and the rear hub is almost impossible to install without cutting the material off the top to keep the driveshaft tunnel from seizing.

Installation is fairly easy. Be sure to remove the 2 screws from the driveshaft support bearing to lower the driveshaft to facilitate assembly of the bushing assembly onto the end of the switch stem. Remove the rear bolts holding the rear drivetrain member down to allow the tailshaft to drop down a few inches to gain access to the rotary switch bushings. I have a Subaru Factory Short Shifter on my car and the hard drive gear finder has always been missing and now it's a lot easier to find gears

I've had a rattle under the shifter column on my '05 Forester XT for almost a year. I've searched the internet for a while, I realized these are bushings, but I just had to find the time to change them. Bought this kit, finally swapped it out and everything is fixed! The bushings are rubber and after 10 years and 160,000 miles they just got old and allowed too much movement. Urethane kits are always current. just be warned! Installing a rear "triangle" hub can be challenging. or it'll hurt ;)…
