Works on both PC and Mac systems

I bought two Orinoco Silver PC cards, one for my old G3 Powerbook (Wallstreet) and one for my daughter's Dell Latitude laptop. Both work great and provide very good signals and data transfer speeds anywhere in the house. Installation on a Dell Latitude (running Win ME) was easy. Install the drivers from the included CD and plug in the card and I was on my home wireless network using 64-bit WEP for security. Installation on a Macintosh Powerbook was more problematic. Good hardware, mediocre software, poor support

The hardware works fairly well with Linux, Mac and Win2K, but the product has changed so much since Lucent originally released that it's a big deal, current drivers and find documentation. The current owner's tech support is unresponsive and the customization software suffers compared to other vendors like Apple. it works, it works pretty well.

It took me some effort to install this computer card. The video was lost on the first try, I took the card out of the slot and returned the video but lost control of the mouse and keyboard. I called tech support (the most knowledgeable tech support I've ever spoken to!), they immediately recognized theโ€ฆ
