I bought Orinoco Silver for my Sony Vaio (Win98) to work with LinkSys wireless router. I bought this card instead of my own Linksys PC card because the reviews say it has a much longer range. It took me some effort to install this computer card. The video was lost on the first try, I took the card out of the slot and returned the video but lost control of the mouse and keyboard. I called tech support (the most knowledgeable tech support I've ever spoken to!), they immediately recognized the problem and told me to update my BIOS or upgrade to Win2000, even though Orinoco says it's Win98 compatible . Updating the BIOS from the Sony website didn't help, so I updated to win2000 (not a very easy task on a Sony Vaio). After the update, I got the map up and running with my LinkSys with little effort. The signal strength is enough to go down a floor without losing speed.
