Very large waist. The child usually wears a size 10 in average children's sportswear. The waistline is very large. We ordered a size 8 which fits everywhere except the waist, if I had to guess the boys trousers fit both a waist size 10 and a size 12-14.

My son is tall and thin so these pants will never have a perfect waist. But the length and the material are suitable, especially for the summer.
