Description of Purdy 144080310 Angular Paint Brush

The stiffness of the brushes makes them ideal for outdoor projects with different temperatures and humidity. A blend of Satin-Edge nylon (Tynex) and Orel polyester. Each xl Brush has a unique hand-chiseled formulation for maximum paint lift and smooth "no drag" application. Highly recommended for both interior and exterior painting projects. The stiffness retention makes them especially high-performing for outside painting under hot and humid climate conditions. Only solid, round, tapered Nylox (dyed nylon) and polyester filaments are used and our special tipping and flagging process brings our synthetic filaments as close to naturally flagged bristle as possible. Hand-chiseled formulation for maximum paint lift and smooth "no-drag" application. For trim work.

Great Brushes best in Paint Brushes

Great, great finish and long lasting. I only buy Purdy brushes. Made in the USA, more expensive but worth every penny. You get what you pay for. Just clean them well after use and they will last a long time and give a quality finish.

Pros
  • Handcrafted formula for maximum color payoff and smooth application without pulling
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The bristles do not fall off and are easy to clean

I said the same thing about the 3 inch version as about this one: I could buy cheaper brushes , but without the fold-down bristles, the ease of cleaning, and the quality of the strokes (so invisible it's like using a roller) made this the right choice.

Pros
  • The rigidity of the brushes makes them ideal for working outdoors in different temperatures and humidity levels
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Well done - perfect angle for painting

This brush is way better than the brushes available at Big Box hardware stores. I've tried these other brushes - they don't last long and end up in the trash. This brush holds paint well, rinses off easily and is great for small areas such as windows, baseboards and trim. I recommend.

Pros
  • Highly recommended for both interior and exterior painting
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Too soft for intended purpose

I am not a professional painter but consider myself experienced enough to write a review. I've been painting myself for decades and found this brush too soft to use for finishing. I couldn't keep the line with even the slightest pressure on the paint or the slightest imperfection on the surface of the finish.

Pros
  • Workmanship
Cons
  • Fair

For sharp lines on narrow surfaces without upholstery, use this brush

I only buy Purdy brushes. Period. My collection consists of two 1/5" ClearCut Angle Tools, two 2" ClearCut Angle Tools, a 2" Straight Brush and one of those 1" Angle Tools. A 1 inch brush is not suitable for ClearCut, but is sufficient to cut a clean line. I don't use tape except on floors, and a brush that gives good control and holds a good charge is paramount unless you're a pro. Not me. I use this narrow one for my old baseboards that have a half inch bevel at the top. I paint them white…

Pros
  • Satin-Edge (Tynex) Nylon/Polyester Orel Blend
Cons
  • Lightly Ribbed
