🌬️ White Demineralization Filter for Guardian Technologies FLTDC30 Humidifier Review

Just doesn't do what it's supposed to. I bought these because I wanted an alternative to keep going to the store to buy distilled water. I started using them on two Guardian humidifiers last week and they don't reduce white dust at all. waste of money. It seems that distilled water is the only solution to the white dust problem.

Ordered 2 filters, one was defective. The inner seal between the tank and the filter cover was missing. Not a big deal as I was able to remove the gasket from the previous filter. Usually these filters work quite well. They don't remove all hard water buildup, but definitely enough to notice a difference. Definitely worth buying.

We bought these to use hard tap water and they do NOT help with white dust AT ALL. We have used distilled water before and have NEVER had white dust. These filters are designed to ensure that you can use tap water free of dust. I'm not thrilled and won't buy it again. We have 3 pureguardian humidifiers and we bought the right cartridges for each one. Same results also between the models.

This is the first filter I have bought; The original I used was free with a coupon. Works well although when full strange things happen to the humidifier, it stops in the middle of the night, doesn't work normally etc. I thought it was broken but I experimented and removed the filter and then everything worked . So now I know that when the humidifier starts shaking, I need to replace the filter.

I have a humidifier and a particle sensor air filter in the same room. I chose this because every time I run a humidifier, it increases the particles in the air, even with filtered water. There was no noticeable improvement from adding this filter. I'm only giving it 2 stars because it can have some filtering impact, but didn't work for my purposes and was quite expensive.

Mineral buildup in my humidifiers is getting worse, not sure if it helped at all. Not sure if this is related, but around the time I started using them for demineralization, my humidifiers started giving off an odor (a musty smell with an orange film on the base). I've bleach washed all the pieces and let them air dry before using them again and it keeps coming back on the second refill.

I cleaned the base almost daily with the brush that came with my H940CA Pure Guardian. Although this filter didn't include my model, I took a chance that it might fit. I'm happy because I see less limescale in the base now and use tap water instead of Brita filtered water. I wasn't expecting to repair mineral deposits since this model wasn't producing them in the large area it works on. (open plan ranch house) I use this year round as the humidity is 30-40% which helps asthma!

We have hard water. When we first started using our ultrasonic humidifier, we had white dust all over the house (even though the humidifier was only in our kids' rooms). We couldn't understand why our whole house was almost covered in fog when we woke up in the morning. After our air conditioning repair technician came in and did a full check but found nothing, he asked about humidifiers. Of course, one night we didn't use the humidifier, and the next morning everything was fine in the house…
