Old Yellow vs New Blue

Nothing to say other than this is a great filter. But recently they changed them from the old ugly yellow to the new blue. I don't care what color it is since you'll never see it, but unfortunately the new blue filters are slick and hard to catch. The old yellow filter felt like sandpaper and gave it extra grip. I'm using my filter tongs again, which isn't too bad. But that alone had to deduct a star.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

  • Not the best

Oversized upgrade for 2nd gen Prius

I have been using Purolator One filters on my Prius for a long time. With this change, I wanted to increase the capacity of the oil filter to allow more dirt to be collected over a longer drain interval. This filter is significantly larger in both diameter and height than the Toyota OEM filter and the 'right' Purolator One for my car, but fits my car easily and no drips come out of the gasket. I will buy them for the rest of the car's life.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some issues

Fits my 2013 Mazda CX9

From the look and feel of the filter I can say this filter is well constructed and should help protect your car's engine. It fits perfectly on my 2013 Mazda CX9 with no oil leaks. The lower part of the housing offers the possibility of using an oil wrench for installation/removal. I have never used an oil filter wrench on any of my machines, preferring to hand tighten them with a piece of sandpaper to secure the grip. I've never had an oil leak, but I think most people will find it much easier…

PL20195 Extended LONG Filter for 2012 Tacoma

PL20195 Long Oil Filter for 2012 Toyota Tacoma rebuild. hot you need tools. I have to be careful not to overtighten my new PL20195 oil filter by hand. I take a little drag. After a quarter turn I ignore. They may have strong hands and not know it. To install this longer filter, the 12mm screw and bracket must first be removed. The longer filter can be easily screwed on. The bracket can remain removed for the next replacement of the extended oil filter. PL20195. Excellent oil filter, removes 99%

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Definitely bad product

Great filter in Filter

Great filter in almost all categories. Great value for money for a filter that also has one of the best filtration rates in the industry (99.9% at 20 microns!). Comes with a nice grippy yellow finish for easy removal and installation. The build quality is excellent. Will definitely buy more to use in the future. I installed it as a large filter on my 2014 Focus ST and it was perfect. The ST normally takes 5.7 litres, but it can go as high as 6 liters using this oversized filter. I have used…

Bigger capacity, better check valve, better filter than Motorcraft

I've had some pretty dry and noisy morning starts and have used genuine Ford Motorcraft FL-400S filters on my F-150 v6. Many Ford fans rave about Motorcraft filters and say that since Ford uses a silicone check valve, you should never use anything other than a Motorcraft filter. Actually, the "S" on the FL-400S is supposed to stand for "silicone anti-backflow valve" to prevent the oil from flowing back into the oil pan due to gravity and thus the oil in the oil pump remains filled and…

Cheap insurance for the long life of your engine (reissue)

This is a review I did when these filters were sold in "packs of 2". There are some errors which I will highlight in brackets. These filters (PL20195) were purchased to replace the Toyota filters found in the Toyota Hilux pickup truck 2.5 liter D-4D diesel engine. They are of very high quality judging by the seal, check valve and weight. The filter is used with Mobil 1 Delvac 15W-40 (edit: it was actually 5W-40) full synthetic engine oil and engine noise is definitely reduced compared to the…
