Not as shown

Not as shown. Says it's Pyrex, but it didn't come with a paper with a barcode on it. Also, there are ribs on the sides. Nowhere in the photo or in the reviews I don't see that? Why is mine different? Seems thinner than the last one I had.

Pros
  • Fantastic
Cons
  • Neutral

I really like these glasses. I needed something to bring my corn pudding to my mother-in-law's Thanksgiving dinner. The size was perfect! Nothing burned in the oven. The food came out delicious. No burning on the bottom. Super easy to clean. I hand washed it and everything was fine. The handles on the side are comfortable to hold. I love that you can use this in the microwave and pop it in the freezer. This helps a lot with leftovers or when I'm making a casserole that my family can later take…

Old school shape - no cone

This is an old fashioned version of the frying pan. It doesn't have the angle of the sides like new products and is much more "square". If you want the least conical version of a glass casserole dish, this is it. I tested the new ones with easy-to-use handles and a sharp cone angle, meaning anything you cook will be "thicker" than you'd like. With a shorter day, the volume of food has to go somewhere and it can only increase. In other words, if you remove the container at the bottom of the…

Very dangerous - do not buy!

You think you're buying Pyrex, so trust it to get out of the oven or microwave onto the stovetop with ease, right? Mom bought me one of these a few years ago and this is the second one that has blown up at our house - yes it blew up, out of the blue. The first time I baked a pumpkin with acorns in a toaster. I took it out when I was done and we went to dinner. After dinner I put the (not hot at all) pan in the sink and it literally exploded all over the kitchen. Broken glass, big and small…

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are downsides

Dangerous! Do not buy!

This casserole dish is dangerous! It exploded in my oven mitt and all over the oven and floor when I took it out of the oven. They were big chunks and all but tiny shards, one of which got stuck in my finger while cleaning. After washing the food and glass, I googled "Pyrex exploding pan" and found a consumer protection website and other websites that had many, many similar cases. For some, like other sizes, these things exploded right on the table and even just sat in the closet! Each of them…
