Enhanced Pyrex Prepware 2-Cup Glass Measuring Cup with Convenient Lid Review

I was pleasantly surprised by the design and shape of this pyrex. It's not too tall but has a solid base, lid and a great spout. It will be nice to drink iced tea all summer long! Highly recommended - this is a very good design especially for those with limited fridge capacity.

I already had a great 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup but no lid. I wanted a mug with a lid that stays closed so that when the soup is reheated in the microwave the "pop-up" veggies don't make a mess. The lid was tight on the nuker the first few times, but now it's so loose that it just sits on the cup. Thermal dimensional changes seem to be a problem with any plastic.

The heavy rubber lid is a bonus I wasn't expecting. It protrudes slightly over the edge of the cup and thus offers a small protection in the cupboard. I tend to smash glassware and break measuring cups, so that helps a lot. Also nice big numbers to measure. Haven't used it with hot hot liquids or to heat anything so can't tell if it's a good pyrex or one that will break.

The lid is completely useless because it doesn't hold the measuring cup. I paid triple for this measuring cup because I was looking for one with a lid and can't even use it. No matter how I close the lid, it pops open almost immediately. Please see the photos I've uploaded so you can see what I mean. I figured I might have a broken measuring cup and/or lid so I went to a local store that sells the same Pyrex measuring cup/lid set and they all had the exact same problem.

I bought these glassware because they have a lid and can be used in the microwave to store food such as spaghetti sauce or other leftovers as well as liquids to warm up . without splattering the whole oven (can also be used in the oven or on the stovetop, by the way). This is a very versatile product. It's been perfect so far. This was my main reason for buying. I mainly used my old one to add 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup butter and an egg. This should have put it at the cost of a cup. It was difficult with my old one. This one is perfect. You see the markings so well - the markings on the handle - it works so well. I'm sorry it took me so long to decide which one to buy as my old one was still fine. I'm glad I bought it. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be and this measuring cup is great.
