New way of making cones/not good

Orton has a new way of making cones. At first I thought this was a flaw in their manufacture, but this was done so they wouldn't break in transit. The cones are now glued together and you need to break them apart. It's not easy, and some of them broke in the process.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Whoever designed them so they don't break in transit should be shot

I've only used two of these - and I've been through at least 15. Is there a trick to separate them? Don't believe the instructions - grab the ends and twist them - it never worked for me. I used a razor blade to separate them one last time after breaking six of them. You must return to individual skittles! But aside from the separation, cones work great!

Pros
  • Pottery and Ceramics
Cons
  • Doubt

Comes with 2 cones assembled and they are very difficult to break.

I had a very hard time breaking them apart and destroyed 3 sets of cones trying to separate them. I ended up using a mini file to cut it in half so it fell apart. The company claims that such shipping reduces the risk of breakage during transit. Maybe so, but I still received an unusable product when I tried to disassemble them myself. At $15 a box, they may have saved money by processing the cones this way, but they didn't pass the money saved on to their customers.

Pros
  • Shooting Accessory
Cons
  • Brief Instructions
