I have a 2011 Sonata. I easily removed the old struts from the hood using a small flathead screwdriver. But it was damn hard to remove the latches on these QiMox stands. Tried several times. So a thought bubble appeared over my head. Why don't you just try to snap them in without trying to loosen the clamp. It did it, both took seconds!

Mine was 9 years old, started failing a year ago, was too cheap to buy but the price was too good to pass up. I'm used to installing such shock absorbers, so the replacement took 3 minutes. They appear to be stronger than the originals, but that's ok as they aren't TOO strong (can't use the hood as a catapult). Good quality and great price.

Bought these to replace the original hood stays on my 2014 Hyundai Sonata. Very quick and easy installation that I did myself. Both took less than 5 minutes to swap out. Very easy to remove and replace. All you have to do is first insert a piece of wood or 2x4 to support the hood. Then do it on one side by removing or prying out the clips (both top and bottom) with a flat head screwdriver. With the same screwdriver you can now pry out the rack.
