Perfect ! but try it first!

I have a 2011 Sonata. I easily removed the old struts from the hood using a small flathead screwdriver. But it was damn hard to remove the latches on these QiMox stands. Tried several times. So a thought bubble appeared over my head. Why don't you just try to snap them in without trying to loosen the clamp. It did it, both took seconds!

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Negative present

Strong enough but not overly strong

Mine was 9 years old, started failing a year ago, was too cheap to buy but the price was too good to pass up. I'm used to installing such shock absorbers, so the replacement took 3 minutes. They appear to be stronger than the originals, but that's ok as they aren't TOO strong (can't use the hood as a catapult). Good quality and great price.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Excellent material suitable for spares

It's amazing great price easy to install should have bought earlier. The dealer tried to charge me $125 each, no kidding, over $250! Ridiculous. It's one of the least used parts on my car, the only time the hood pops open is when it's being serviced, so the fact that they're out of service infuriated me from the start and had the audacity to do so try to rip people off so extreme. . So glad I bought them anyway. Be careful when installing and have someone hold the hood to prevent it fromโ€ฆ

Easy to install and inexpensive

Both programs took less than five minutes to install. I read what others had to say before buying and realized that for the price I really can't go wrong. As others have said, you don't need to mess around with clamps. To remove the old post, pry with your palm to remove one end, then use a screwdriver as a pry bar to remove the other end. Place one end of the new one on the receiver's pin and pry it up with your hand, and do the same with the other end. It is really that easy! Once you'veโ€ฆ

Great product, easy installation!

Bought these to replace the original hood stays on my 2014 Hyundai Sonata. Very quick and easy installation that I did myself. Both took less than 5 minutes to swap out. Also great value as you get 2 for about $19 instead of buying them at your local auto parts store where you pay $20 for each rack. I would definitely buy them again! I recommend watching the YouTube video if you need help installing it. That's what I did! Update: After 8 months they are still as strong as the day I installedโ€ฆ

Not recommended. Bad custom design.

I saw that this rack didn't have any reviews but it looked exactly like my original while the other rack had its own system. Appearances are deceptive. The OEM stand is very easy to assemble and disassemble. This bear. The retaining clip goes through the whole hole and is VERY difficult to get out. OEM only needs a screwdriver. This one took a screwdriver, a needle and a vise! I learned mechanics, but it was just bad design. Provide them with a clamp over the hole and it will be a breeze. Aโ€ฆ

Very easy to remove and replace.

Very easy to remove and replace. All you have to do is first insert a piece of wood or 2x4 to support the hood. Then do it on one side by removing or prying out the clips (both top and bottom) with a flat head screwdriver. With the same screwdriver you can now pry out the rack. Before attempting to install a new stand, make sure the top and bottom clips are pulled out (WARNING: Do not remove the clips. If you remove them, you may accidentally damage the clips.). Then insert the top and reinsert

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
