Kickass RAID/JBOD box

This should be for a home RAID or JBOD box. Make sure you have a good USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller or better so you have more storage space than your nerdiest neighbors.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Seamless storage spaces

This solution saves you the hassle of a large tower and worrying about power connections and SATA cables. I turned off my computer, pulled out my drives, which were the Windows Storage Spaces pool, plugged them into QNAP, turned everything back on and Windows continued without a single problem. My storage pool was there as if nothing had changed. Outstanding tackle!

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • No automatic management

Impressive quality and performs well on Gen 2 on Windows 10

Impressed with the quality. So far it works fine with hard drives. I haven't tested 8 SSDs yet, which would be the ultimate Gen 2 speed test. My test so far. 7x8 TB (SMR), Windows StoreSpaces-Simple-ReFS, then VeraCrypt, then with (ReFS or NTFS, I forgot) on top. This setup of SMR on hardware RAID-0 has always been fast considering the SMR aspect. Never tried parity with SMR arrays. I'll update if I find any issues or run more useful tests. 2GB/s) Windows StripesI'll update if I run more useful

Pros
  • Hard Drive Accessories
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

If you have money, just buy it.

It was reliable. I know there are some issues with older USB-C 10Gb/s chipsets. And it was buggy with USB C on my x570 motherboard. There were problems with memory initialization. Luckily, I also bought an ORICO USB PCI-E card, which is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 internal expansion card, and it works great with it and the USB-C to USB-C cable. I think it's overkill since the map can run much faster than the box, but I agree. I am very satisfied with the expansion box. Zero problems after I initialized it.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Doubtful
