Excellent Device worked as expected

The hardware seems to be of good quality. The power button is a bit tacky, but you don't have to use it too often. There are no instructions so if you can get it with no hard drive or memory you'll have to find out for yourself, but it looks like the HD is attached to the bottom of the unit with 4 HD screws. There is a small rubber pad that prevents the HD from making contact with the case. The memory module I bought (only has 1 slot) was (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ACODGMC/ref=ppx_yo_…

Powerful little computer that fits in a flat network closet in the wall

Built-in OPNSense for home networking. 6-port version, barebones. Installed Samsung 16GB RAM and 256 Indmem SSD. Completely redundant, but will be used later for other software. Barely reaches 1% of the processor on average. Pretty cool on touch.Config: The first port connects to the cable modem. 4 of the 5 remaining ports are connected to different parts of the house including the wireless access point in the living room. A port is not used. There is no separate switch. The initial setup takes

I bought it as a gift for my sister. She used a very old, power-hungry, noisy PC to run PFSENSE, a software router with many enterprise-class security features. So we installed PFSense, downloaded additional security packages (IDS with rules for new threats and firewall settings) and imported the settings. No, it doesn't use WIFI in PFSense, but it still uses a separate WAP. Silence really is worth its weight in gold, and power consumption has dropped from probably 100 watts to 2530 watts. And…

Overview for a network engineer.

This little device is quite light but powerful. If you're not too shy to open it up, I'd recommend getting the barebones version and buying the storage and mSATA separately as it's a lot cheaper. Offers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZFGD2B/ (256GB mSATA) and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ACODGMC/ (16GB RAM). At my house it runs Juniper vMX on top of KVM. The first interface is connected to my cable modem and the other five are bridged to the vMX instance. Since vMX doesn't…
