This tool is perfect for triangles but could be a lot better if it had horizontal and vertical marks/measurements so it can be used to line up 6.5" blocks accurately. I would not recommend it to any of my sewing friends.

This ruler makes straightening half-square triangles easy and perfect. This became my line for half square triangle quilts. I have a few rulers for all types of cuts, but this is the one I use the most. I ordered both as a refill and gave it to a new quilt and she used it and remarked how perfectly her squares lined up. It comes with instructions which I have posted on the wall above my editing table for quick and easy reference.

This works like a charm to align half square triangles for quilting. You sew the squares, cut them in half, and before you cut the resulting triangle, place a ruler on the seam and use the ruler to align the triangle with the size of the block you want to make. Use the rotary cutter to cut off the excess and get a perfect HST result.
