ears hurt. There is not enough space inside for the ear and the hard plastic presses against the ear when worn. Very uncomfortable. Too bad I found out about this after the return window closed, otherwise they would have been on their way back by now. Very disappointed. Uncomfortable even for my kids who have much smaller ears.

The work on the track is done. Ordered this for my wife as it was her first NASCAR race. The small 1 mile course at Dover remains quite noisy. Sometimes it's difficult to hear the broadcast even at full power. Overall it blocks out noise well and allows you to hear enough to understand what's going on on the track.

I bought these with a RadioShack Pro-444 racing scanner and I really like the headphones. They only have one downside and that's how resizing works. Basically, you just push/pull the earpiece on each side to increase/decrease the size. However, I find it a bit off for me. When fully extended, the headset is slightly too big and doesn't fit properly on either side of the ear. I usually have to adjust one side with just a nudge down to get a comfortable fit. I wore these headphones with a race scanner to the April 2017 Nascar race at Richmond Speedway. They have good sound quality and can adjust the volume of each earbud. The ear pads are comfortable and fit well when I wear them over a hat and sunglasses. The downside to this headset is that it doesn't reduce sound as well as NASCAR engines. Value for the quality you get. However, if you are close to the track, they will not suffice. I opened mine up, filled them with foam and sealed them with silicone and it helped a lot, but they're still not good enough to stand on the curb near the corner. If you're on a straight stretch of track they'll be fine with foam padding inside, but you'll have too much time in a corner if you can't hear anything.
