Description of 🔧 RS9000XL RS999312 Shock Absorber by Rancho

NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Nine-position easy-to-adjust knob allows customized damping control and firmness for on-road and off-road flexibility. DESIGNED FOR HARDWORKING VEHICLES -- Ideal for stock or lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or go off road. INDUSTRY FIRST -- Recognized as the first nine-position manually adjustable shock series in the off-road market. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture and reduce damping performance fade and foaming. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features an application-specific 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas and 1.25-in. sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Up to 2.75-in. tri-tube body (application specific) filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings and graphite-filled fluon-banded piston help absorb ride harshness and enhance responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the long-lasting premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot ensures long life.

Very bad quality. No service from the ranch

Installed these shocks and drove for 6 months when a shock broke. Rancho didn't even bother to reply to my emails regarding the issue. Don't buy Rancho shocks.

Pros
  • Useful for anything other than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • So-so

Fits like a glove, but soon starts to stink!

Fits without additional documentation. Although there are still questions about the various damper settings and adjustments. Still great fit! Answer: I can't believe the shock absorbers have been removed in less than 6 months! Of course I retract my previous comment! Complete garbage!

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Crumpled

paired with Ranch front struts/quick lift spools and rear spacer and so far so good. My only concern so far is that at level 9, which is the hardest, they're still pretty soft, and anything below 7 seems very soft to me on my 2005 Pathfinder. I heard they don't last more than 6 months but I got a $120 rebate from the ranch for buying them with the rest so I went with them and after 2 months they are still working fine . If you don't get a discount I would choose Bilstein for the same price.

Pros
  • Good Value
Cons
  • Fits old

Shock absorbers need constant adjustment, one of them is broken

Pathfinder 05 shock absorbers used for almost a year. The dial on the shocks kept dropping on country roads, going from a decent ride to too soft in the odd corner. Average speed. It wasn't a hard hit, it was a traffic calming device rated for speeds in excess of 20mph. I ran it at just under 25mph and the reservoir failed where the piston enters. The lip around the plunger failed and the plunger kicked out about 60 degrees, but sticks when fully extended. The tank was supported by a lower arm…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • unreliable

-=- 05 Pathfinder-=- TERRIBLE SHOCK!

I installed them on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road Edition and my situation is exactly the same as the C. Sampson review, the first Revain review. My right rear shock tube came out and went back in through the side of the shock body. His photos are similar to my experience with ranchos of poor quality and craftsmanship (or lack thereof). I don't think this shock has enough travel for the intended application. This car is primarily used by my wife for errands and transporting the kids to…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Makes me angry
