Nice on the cards: Embossed

This is a good product, leaves a good emboss with words. It's a nice silver, I would say it's more matte than shiny, but not shiny.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • No insurance

The super fine formula is really useful for fine details

Fine embossing powder. The Superfine formula is really helpful for finer details. I tested regular silver and superfine silver, and fine silver gives the best detail in complex patterns.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Hard to tell

EXCELLENT in watercolor, colored pencil shading, pastel, charcoal, mixed media. You only need a little to shine or use separately. Ideal for mixing with pastel colors, even realistic for glass and metal. I also have some gold powder for watercolors but I use it in all mediums.

Pros
  • Accessory
Cons
  • Expensive

Love silver not black

I have ordered this product in two colors: black and silver. I paint with a brush and use the Ranger Perfect Medium Brush before applying powder. Silver works very well; It applies well and looks beautiful after embossing. Black is a whole different story. Somehow it sticks everywhere, even on my own fingerprints from paper handling! It just sticks too much and looks bad with all the remaining embossing powder even after the powder has melted.

Pros
  • power
Cons
  • little things

Ideal for embossing! I've only tried Ranger products so can't speak for other embossing brands but I think this is a great embossing powder. I'm new to hot stamping and the results have been great. I would definitely recommend DIY or buying an anti-static bag as this powder tends to get everywhere and stick everywhere which can lead to lots of stickiness and splattering if not cleaned properly. However, the silver metallic color looks so cool when heated. Love it!

Pros
  • Paper and craft paper
Cons
  • Only available in black
