I used it for the first time today. I found them a bit dry. This smeared the ink pad because there was more ink on one side of the pad than the other side of the pad. I didn't use them to emboss images, I used them to color the edges of the cards. I doubt they can be used for embossing in the state they are in, although I have seen this technique used with this ink. Do I want to buy paint for everyone now? I doubt it.

I recommend ALL of the Tim Holtz mini ink pad sets. The raised pad allows for use on any size stamp, and with 12 sets to choose from, it's a quick and relatively inexpensive way to expand your ink selection. Sometimes I really need to use an eraser on my stamp to give the ink some grip (a method I've only recently used), but all the colors are great. Set #4 is currently my favorite. Finally had time to open and play and I was a bit disappointed that the ink was dry. Well, I've watched tons of videos and heard great things, but now I'm deducting 1.5 stars because I'm ordering these packs and every single one was almost dry. This wasn't the only seller but they were all sent by Revain except for 1 and by all. That was enough to make a card. Currently looking for a lower price on Rakers but need to recover from ordering all the mini inks.
