Literally Plug'n'Play in Windows 10

Used for various purposes but the first test was a (new) Raspberry Pi 4. Connected to a Windows 10 PC and a new "USB Serial Port ". appeared immediately. PuTTY pointed at it and it's talking to my new Raspberry Pi 4 at 115200. It really couldn't be easier!

It's easy, it works.

I used this cable to connect to a Soekris DAC to update the firmware. Once I connected the cable to the DAC properly :) everything went fine. I had no problems with the cable. Conclusion: The cable is reliable.

I gave this five stars because it works great and has a long cable

I gave this five stars because it works great and has a long cable. Like the other reviewer, I want them to take note of the results. Do not throw away the pouch as the pen colors and functions are listed on the label. The only problem I had was with the driver. Windows 7 didn't recognize the device and I had to search for drivers. The Purenite Tech website didn't have any links to a driver that I could find. I found the driver on the ftdichip website. I had to install the drivers twice, one…

Pros
  • The serial cables
Cons
  • are unreliable
