I suspect this item is mislabeled as at least one other person in one of the questions received a 5-8 year old helmet instead of 8 year olds. Helmet. So if you have a 5-8 year old kid he will most likely like it but if you have a 9 year old kid it's a bit small.

My daughter LOVES this helmet! The colors are bold and really shine in the sun. The bulging eyes are adorable and we received loads of compliments while riding it. She likes wearing it, which makes things a lot easier (and safer). Bonus - the eyes glow in the dark! Super cute helmet at a great price.

One of the antennas was missing, it looked like it had been torn out or cut off. Google eyes itch too. No big deal, it's a kids helmet, I'm sure it will scratch more, but when I'm paying for a new product I expect it to be new and unused. The ladybug's smile also catches her eye. It's still very cute, I was just hoping it arrived in better shape.

Got this for my nephew who will be 5 soon and he found it scary and didn't want anything to do with it so I had to return his. When I first saw this helmet I realized it looked a little gross so I bought this green one instead of the red one. I thought red was worse and we would do fine with green. Unfortunately not the case. He never tried it on so I can't comment on sizing.

This helmet is very cute. Actually we bought it twice. My son left it at our hoa park and someone picked it up before we came back. Very disappointed but we bought it again. The straps tend to loosen and need tightening every few rides but my daughter's helmet does too and it's a whole different brand. I assume this is a general problem. Crap Helmet. It's definitely not a one-size-fits-all, or even a one-size-fits-all. Due to the lack of adjustment, it only fits a certain head size. Yes, the chin strap is adjustable, but there is no traditional rubber or ratchet system for head attachment. Creates an unsafe landing. According to the description, the foam padding ensures a secure hold. Yes No. Save a few bucks more and get a quality hard hat with an adjustable internal fit system.

I bought this helmet for my 2 year old son and I am still very happy with it. It looks just like the picture, even the color was accurate for us, I read a couple of reviews saying some weren't the right color. We've been lucky and never been in an accident while he's on his bike or powered wheels so I can't comment on how well it actually holds up and protects in an accident but it seems sturdy and fits well so trust I him in that regard.
