Just what I was looking for for my 3 year old grandson. At 3 years old it seems too big and heavy but he got used to it very quickly and was able to hit (just like a 3 year old can field) since he wore it for a long time. It will be a baseball helmet that will take him to the minor leagues before we have to judge him. This is Rawlings, so the quality is there. It might seem a little pricey, but if you want to protect your brain for $2, buy a $2 helmet.

This helmet fits my 4 year old daughter and saved her from a big hit! She ran home and another kid threw the ball right at her head - it hit the helmet hard and bounced about 6 feet. My daughter didn't pay attention and kind of turned around like "hey, who touched my helmet?", luckily she didn't feel anything! Great helmet, especially for the price! Almost every player on my daughter's 6-8 year old softball team has ordered these helmets and everyone has been very happy. My kid is 8 and the helmet fits great; the youngest is half the size of my kid (laughs, not quite, but just barely!) and the same helmet fits. The internal foam padding is great and offers good cushioning without creating pressure points (usually at the temples). I really think the padding makes this helmet suitable for all ages. I…
