These balls are perfect for throwing practice in any 8U league. Children are more likely to stand in front of the ball and try to catch it. They are the same size and weight as normal balls, so they are also good for target practice. Use multiple exercise balls occasionally if you want to get fewer ground balls and more flying balls. I was trying to teach my boy to play tennis balls because he was a bit scared but they kept falling out of his glove. I ended up getting these and they are perfect. The weight on them is great and he immediately started catching them better, which boosted his confidence very quickly. Also, they're much softer than a baseball, so if he misses, he won't hurt himself. I would have bought them a year ago!

I bought these for my dog who is addicted to a training ball he found while we were walking at our local soccer field. I don't know what brand he found there, but the mysterious orb's skin is much thicker and stronger than hers. However, they are not intended for children to chew. I think the leather will hold up great if you use it for its intended purpose. So don't judge me by my score. If you're buying them for your dog to chew on, slip them onto an old sock.
