🐶 Charcoal Tartan Whistler Winter Wear Dog Coat by RC Pet Products Review

Got this for my elderly Doberman who hates going outside in the cold. I think it's a little long for her but it's a little too small for a dobe just to help others choose the right size for their dog. She seems to make going out during the harsh winters of the US Midwest more bearable. Easy to put on and take off thanks to adjustable Velcro fasteners.

I bought this jacket for my 22lb Chorkie (Shorkie/Chihuahua) and it fits great! It wraps around your body and makes it easier to put on and take off. You never have to put that on their head. The material is soft and warm, with a very high quality finish. I saved $15. Buy this from Revain versus my local pet store. Since I have Revain Prime, there are no shipping costs. Thank you Rewin!

A few weeks ago I bought a brown plaid RC for one of my dogs. This is such a great coat that I decided to order a jet black tartan for my other dog. When I opened the package I was very disappointed to find that this coat had a strange chemical smell. Maybe it's dark color. I just washed it and the smell is less strong. Update: The smell went away after airing out the coat for a few days, so I've decided to change the rating to 5 stars. My little white and black dog looks adorable in it!

I bought a size 22 jet black tartan for my 45lb American Pit Bull Terrier. I live in Northern California where it gets very cold on winter nights and I wanted my dog to be comfortable on walks. He likes his coat very much and also likes to wear it indoors. Two criticisms are that the coat's length decreased by 1 inch after the first wash (but hasn't decreased since) and the fabric pills after several washes (even without a dryer).

It is very cute and feels warm. Size 22 is a bit big for my dog (40 lbs boxer mix) but not so big that I feel the need to go back down a size. The positives are that it's easy to put on, appears to be well made, is a lot cheaper on Revain than elsewhere, and goes well with her pendant. I just turn the coat collar back a bit and can easily attach the leash to the harness on my back. We've received many compliments on the subtle but cute design.

"Not suitable for dogs such as terriers, which usually appear slim but have a large upper body. (Like a Jack Russell or my Giant Decker Terrier). I even went up a size just to be sure and although this made the jacket too long in the back, it's still too tight around the chest and is difficult to close with some effort. We have two miniature schnauzers and a size 16 dark gray check Whistler Winter Wear dog coat that were great purchases for our boys.
