It worked exactly how I wanted it to. I had to read the key fob's identification number. We use HID proximity key fobs and with format variant 5 I was able to read the card number as simple numbers. other readers just gave me random numbers that I had to convert. Worked great.

the instructions were a bit confusing but if you read them again it becomes clear. Unless of course you need to care about the format at all, then why bother. It worked driverless on Windows as promised. Connect and scan the card and you will be fine. We usually pass the card number to a field in our program, so our setup is a bit more complicated. For example, being able to program it to send or not send the enter key worked great.

I posted this in an area where staff are running it and have people scanning cards all day. It works great most of the time, but it can lose its settings, causing the cards to be misread but not really communicated to the employee. In this case, several days of data were lost. I had to buy a famous brand to solve this problem forever. If you just need one reader for your lab or testing, this is a great option. But definitely not ready for series production

I bought one of these. The instructions were a bit technical but I was able to get the gist of how the device worked. After experimenting a bit with different settings, I could never figure out the right setting for my proxy cards. I contacted their tech support via email and they were responsive and SUPER helpful. With her guidance, I was able to properly set up the device for my cards. I can fully recommend this seller.
