For attaching/lifting our XJ, easy to drill and easy to fit with additional longer bolts if the original nuts are present.

This metal part is a magic wand, my shock absorber broke, the screws too. They charged me $200 to fix both sides of the rear, I went and bought this and my mechanic charged me $50 to install them. I didn't feel like making it myself, but it was easy and cheap. You really can do it yourself. It solves problems and is cheaper than the rough country.

Lifting my friend XJ the rear upper shock absorber bolts broke. This solution was very quick and easy! We didn't have a jackhammer, but a few hard, firm hits with a long plug and a hammer made short work of factory nuts. We installed the dampers in 20 minutes with new top nuts. I've since bought more to keep on the shelf in case this happens to another XJ I might work with.

They worked perfectly, the old shock absorber bolts were cut off immediately when trying to remove them. The factory design does not allow you to just put regular nuts and thread the bolt. Flag nuts allow for this exchange. The steel seems a little soft, I don't know how long they will last, the screws appear to be from a hardware store and not grade 8 steel. The price is cheap enough, if they break I'll buy another pair and start from the beginning. Better than what I had before.

I had some equipment from the previous owner and when I was installing new shock absorbers on my XJ '01 one bolt broke and another fell off. The hardest part is either removing the old hardware or knocking out the factory welded nuts. The instructions recommend an air hammer, but a hammer and punch did the trick. After that, all you have to do is lift the bracket and screw in the screws. I don't know why I messed around with the old install for so long, I should have done that a long time ago.
