All I had to do was unscrew the rear license plate and put a camera through it. I use this RCA kit for my front camera and monitor, the installation is very simple and easy. Now if I want the front view, I press the button on its cigarette lighter, the power turns on within 0.5s. The only downside is that my car already has a DVR, so I have to buy a cigarette lighter extension.

I would disregard reviews that mention this unit smoked and crackled when first turned on. I suspect the installers wired it wrong somewhere along the line. A lot can go wrong with the wiring from the camera to this connector. I have installed five rear view camera systems and one front view camera and never had a single problem. Again, I suspect unqualified installers. Know what you are doing!

If you are suspicious of the reverse light, then this product is for you.
