This is not a harsh white but a warmer yellow light tone. This is a 4 inch device so make sure you buy the right size. I think another reviewer tried using this to put it in a 6" recessed glass and it doesn't work that way. There are no issues with this light and it's nice that it can be dimmed, although I didn't plug that in. to a dimmable switch, it's good to know that I can do this in the future if I want to hook this up to a dimmable switch.
