Bought to put Christmas lights on the back of the car. The plug didn't work; When opened, the ground wire was not soldered to the ground, causing the missing contact problem. The entire assembly is also slightly smaller than the typical 7-port adapter used on a trailer. So with this problem, the whole fork has some play, which is why it doesn't always make contact.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not the best

Outputs 12V to the street.

We often go hiking and take things like bicycles, basketballs and things that need to be inflated with us. I have a small 12 volt air compressor and used the outlets in the truck's cab. This device places the socket where you need it, on the back of the bumper. I don't know why truck manufacturers don't put sockets on the outside of the car. This device is plugged directly into the trailer socket and does what it is supposed to. Works well.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • You can get hurt

A great solution when your truck needs electricity.

Switch it on, set the ignition to ACC and it lights up like magic. able to run the refrigerator in the back of my truck. My 7-pin connector has a large theoretical rating, I haven't been able to verify the actual output current, but everything I've plugged into it works great. I look forward to long rides with it.

No plug and play option.

Thought to just take it out of the box and use it, if that's your plan don't buy it. The assembly between the vanes rotates in both directions within the outer casing. There is no keyway to lock rotation. So it has to be properly oriented to plug into a 7 pin socket, it's a trail and error process. Also, the metal spatulas slip into the holes when inserted and require needle-nosed pliers to pull them out again. I expected a slightly better quality from Reese.

Pros
  • Big selection
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

Perfect for airing trailer tires on the go

I'm tired of running a 25ft 12v outlet from my 4Runner's dash through the back seats and back of the cargo area so I can run my little 12v -Air compressor with a latch which I always leave in my SUV to air out my pop up camper tires when attached which sometimes blows a fuse. Now I can just plug the Reese 74681 into my 7x under the rear bumper and the air compressor easily reaches my tires on its own. Extension is not required. And since it's a larger circuit, there are no more blown fuses. I'm
