The ground wire was not soldered on the inside and was therefore inoperable. Also not designed to specification: not tight.
Bought to put Christmas lights on the back of the car. The plug didn't work; When opened, the ground wire was not soldered to the ground, causing the missing contact problem. The entire assembly is also slightly smaller than the typical 7-port adapter used on a trailer. So with this problem, the whole fork has some play, which is why it doesn't always make contact.
