Remington R5000 Series Rotary Shaver Review

I ignored reviews that said this razor pulls mustaches rather than trims them. BIG MISTAKE! I've probably had 7-8 razors over the years - some good, some bad. This was the worst!

Bought to replace a previous Remington electric shaver I had for 3 years which I liked but unfortunately ran without batteries and eventually died. I like that this new one is powered by lithium batteries. I can fully charge it in under an hour and it lasts at least two weeks of shaving time before I need to charge it again. To be honest this one cuts just like the one I had before, it cuts great except around the mustache area and some areas on the neck, it still cuts those areas but not very…

This product is the best thing I have ever tried in my life, its versatility, its features and most importantly the way it was made shows me that Remington - this is the most professional thing I've ever seen in my life, if you're really looking for a high end razor I recommend this, thanks Remington :D

This is a torture device. I've been using electric razors for longer than I can remember, I'm 73 and this is by far the worst. The thing doesn't cut, but pulls out most of the beard. I'm talking 2 days of stubble, not 4 or 5 days. There is nothing to clean, just a razor and a charging cable. If possible, this article will be sent back as soon as possible.

Bought a Remington PR1260 R5 in February 2015. I waited a year to rate them as it takes time to rate reliability and durability. I bought this razor because it has become a daily Revain offer. I needed an extra razor to take with me when traveling and thought it would be a decent lower quality razor to use in a hurry but this Remington razor is very low quality. The razor head is fine considering the price range, but pulls on the hair too often, resulting in an uncomfortably painful shave. The worst aspect of the razor is the retractable trimmer on the back. Can't believe this is a Remington product; It's very well made and has lithium batteries, but it's actually terrible for shaving your face. Regardless of the length of the stubble, he painfully plucks each hair out of your face one at a time. No close shaving and no cutting of the follicles. The beard trimmer on the back also effectively pulls out hair. After that I would not buy another Remington razor.

I bought it because of the name - Remington. I had an electric Remington a while ago that I loved. When I received it I plugged it in until it was fully charged and then went in and shaved. At first I didn't feel it, although the razor slowly moved across my face. It wasn't until I was done that the pain started (see pictures). I will never buy a Remington again.

This was the only cordless/rechargeable shaver that allowed me to shave while plugged in. Philips/Norelco, which I also own, only allows you to shave after charging, which can take several hours. This Reminington initially feels a little less smooth when shaving compared to my Philips/Norelco, but it gets the job done and is worth the corded or cordless option. Handy if the battery is empty after shaving on a business trip and you need to get ready just before the meeting.
