Something was broken inside as you can hear a rattling noise when you shake the remote and the mute button on the side didn't work. The quality is similar to the original TCL remote that came with the TV. I will be concerned about long term use although I will see it arrive new and broken in the mail.

The remote control works but feels cheap. The buttons make a distinct click when pressed, and when shaken, the pieces appear to fall apart. Although it works functionally. I didn't want to buy the cheapest one on sale fearing the quality would be super cheap. But this one still feels like it's not made that well.

There is a parallel dimension where my 13 year old daughter can open small objects like a remote control and attach them to my TCL TV. Obviously she cannot take things from this dimension as they will never be found again, even under threat of punishment or reward. That being said, this remote was a great replacement.

The photo on the left shows the original that came with the TV. The one on the right differs slightly by only having 1 shortcut key, which doesn't matter to me at all. I literally just had to change the batteries and it worked. No special programming, nothing. I know you can use the Roku app on your phone, but nothing beats a good old handy remote. I ordered bumper guards so it wouldn't break like my original lol.

This remote control only works if you point it directly at the TV at the right angle; more frustrating than worth it; An update after 3 months is completely useless. I wish I could send it back. Instead, I put it in a box and bought a Roku branded voice remote, which works great. I wish I'd read a similar review that said not to buy this and spend the extra $8 on an official Roku remote with a label on the bottom.
